Pragmatic Method (Dreikur’s Classroom Management Theory) (Rudolf Dreikur, 1960s) – a model of classroom management based on principles of mutual respect and a “desire to belong” – that is, the conviction that individuals want to feel accepted by, valued within, and contributing to a group. Misbehaviors are thus attributed to problematic efforts to establish a sense of belonging.
